Yogurt that sets in the pot it's served in.

We culture milk slowly and never stir it, so the curd sets whole — the old way. Thick, naturally tangy, and made fresh in small batches. No thickeners, no preservatives, and zero added sugar in our no-sugar-added pots. Nothing to hide.

A tub of YoGut! probiotic yogurt with its illustrated label Pot-set means the curd sets undisturbed in the very tub you receive — never stirred, never rushed.

Field guide · Gut health

Your gut is an ecosystem. Feed it accordingly.

Trillions of bacteria live in your digestive tract — collectively, your gut microbiome. It helps break down food, produce certain vitamins, and interact with your immune system, much of which is concentrated around the gut.

Why fermented foods matter. Fermentation is controlled culturing: beneficial bacteria transform milk, converting lactose into lactic acid. That acidity is what sets the curd — and it means much of the lactose is already broken down before you take a bite, which is why many lactose-sensitive people find yogurt gentler than milk.

Live cultures, kept alive. Yogurt only carries live cultures if it isn't heat-treated after fermentation. Ours never is — it goes from incubation to chiller to you. Research suggests regularly eating live-culture foods may help support a balanced microbiome and comfortable digestion.

What we won't claim. Yogurt is not a medicine. It won't cure conditions, and anyone with a diagnosed digestive disorder should talk to a doctor. What it is: a genuinely nutritious daily food with a long record across many food cultures.

Illustration, simplified: a diverse gut community includes many bacterial shapes and strains. Diversity is fed by fermented foods and fiber.

Field guide · Probiotics

Probiotics, without the marketing fog.

Probiotics are live microorganisms that, eaten in adequate amounts, may confer a health benefit. Yogurt's classic cultures — Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus — are where the story starts.

Myth

"All yogurt has probiotics."

Fact

Only yogurt with live, active cultures does. Heat treatment after fermentation — common in shelf-stable products — kills the cultures. Pot-set yogurt like ours is never reheated.

Myth

"More strains is always better."

Fact

Benefits are strain- and dose-specific. A well-made yogurt eaten regularly beats an exotic strain list eaten once. Consistency matters more than novelty.

Myth

"Probiotics fix any stomach problem."

Fact

Evidence supports modest, specific benefits — like helping some people's digestion feel more comfortable. Persistent symptoms deserve a doctor, not just a dairy aisle.

Myth

"Sweetened probiotic drinks are equivalent."

Fact

Many carry more sugar per serving than value. Plain yogurt gives you cultures plus protein and calcium — sweeten it yourself with fruit or honey and you control the dose.

Field guide · Nutrition

What's in the pot — and what isn't.

We put our label on the page. Per 100g, a no-sugar-added pot carries 80 calories, 4g of complete dairy protein, and 6g of sugar — every gram of it naturally occurring lactose, none of it added.

Sugar per 100g, compared*

*Our nutrition label vs. a published survey of 900+ supermarket yogurts (average above 10g/100g; flavored products measured up to 22.6g). Ours is milk sugar only — nothing added.

Satiety that lasts. Protein and fat digest slowly. A yogurt-based breakfast — a pot with fruit and oats — holds you to lunchtime in a way sweetened cereal never will, without the mid-morning sugar dip.

Complete protein, honestly counted. Dairy protein carries all nine essential amino acids, including leucine — the one most tied to muscle recovery. A pot contributes complete protein to a meal; when protein is the goal, pair it with oats, nuts, or peanut butter like our breakfast bowl does.

Across ages. Children get calcium and complete protein during growth; adults get satiety without added sugar; seniors get an easy-to-digest protein source when appetite shrinks. One food, the whole household.

How we make it

A batch takes the time it takes.

Pot-set yogurt can't be rushed and can't be faked — if the milk, cultures, or temperature are off, the curd simply doesn't set. Here's the honest timeline.

Hour 0

Fresh milk, gently heated

Heating primes milk proteins so they set into a firm, glossy curd later.

Hour 1

Culture & pot

Live cultures go in, then the milk is poured into the very pots you'll receive. Nobody touches it again.

Hours 2–8

The set

Held warm and still, bacteria turn lactose to lactic acid until the milk sets whole. Stirring now would ruin it — so we don't.

Overnight

Cold finish

Chilling stops fermentation at the right tang and firms the texture. Then it's ready for you.

Is it okay if I'm lactose-sensitive?
Fermentation breaks down much of milk's lactose, and many lactose-sensitive people handle yogurt comfortably — but everyone's different. Start small. If you have a diagnosed condition, check with your doctor first.
There's liquid on top of my yogurt. Is it spoiled?
That's whey — protein-rich and completely normal for pot-set yogurt without stabilizers. Pour it off for thicker yogurt, or stir it back in. Spoilage smells unmistakably wrong; whey doesn't.
